Background: This was the third and final chapter I wrote for the Blinding Light Crusaders series. When my senior year started at Denton High, I took a break from writing. And by the time I was ready to finish this story, I knew the band configuration was about to change. I considered just letting this story out to pasteur, but I couldn't do that. I mean it started off so wonderfully wonderful. I just had to finish it.
Note: This is the first and only story to feature Leigh Clark and Laura Insley, although Leigh is mentioned again in The Cruise.
Though I combined personal circumstances of two years ago with those of today in other stories I've recently completed, I couldn't really do that with this one. So as of August of 2002, Paul was still going out with Leigh, Robbie was still going out with Laura, and Tyler, RJ, Stephen, and myself were all single. RJ wouldn't begin dating Genevieve until October of 2002, Stephen wouldn't begin dating Karen until December of 2002, and Tyler wouldn't begin dating Kera until April of 2003.
Mulch is a parody of Senses Failed.
Leigh's remark about my being third chair occurred in the fall of 2002. For some reason, she always got mad at me when I beat her on a chair test. But by our senior year, I really didn't care anymore. So this only happened twice that entire year.
The dialogue exchange with the hobo was taken from episode 237 of the Simpsons, "Take My Wife, Sleaze."
1317 Hellcat boulevard was the same address mentioned in Lauren Returns.
