Short Men, Long Shadows

Featuring: Tyler Browder, John Clower, Jennifer Dower, Robbie Greer, Paul LeMaire, Emily Sears, Nicole Taylor, Rachel Trammell, Lauren Wick, and Kristin Zimmerer
Written: April, 2001

Background: I stole this title from a quote about Napoleon I found in the history text book. This cast is a bit misleading, though. Nicole, Rachel, and Kristin were really only there for one taping cession. With that aside, here's the 911.

Who better to portray a five-foot Napoleon than a five and a half foot Paul LeMaire. Unfortunately, Paul's not quite the best at memorizing lines. Once he had them down, he was probably a better actor than any of us, but that took awhile. In the scene where I'm yelling at Jennifer and Lauren for losing in Italy, Paul and Tyler decided to sabotage the scene by turning up some tajano music in the next room. Luckily, we were able to finish the scene without laughing too hard.

Another big scene was Paul and Lauren's debating about invading England. This scene took eight takes and almost two hours to do. When Paul was yelling "yes" at the end, it wasn't because he was about to conquer the British. It was because he finally was able to finish his monologue. (And this was with the lines right in front of him.) A lot of people thought this movie wasn't quite as good as The Crusading Spirit. But you know what? They're wrong! This movie rocked!

Note: This movie got us another A. Also, the 'CBS' mentioned in the title on the script stands for 'Clower Browder Sears', and not 'Columbia Broadcasting System'.
